| Indication: | Posaconazole is used to prevent certain fungal infections in patients who have severely weakened immune systems (such as patients who have had chemotherapy). It belongs to a class of drugs known as antifungals. It works by stopping the growth of fungi. It is approved for the prophylaxis of invasive fungal infections in patients with neutropenia or in haematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients undergoing high- dose immunosuppressive therapy for graft-versus-host disease, and for the treatment of fungal infections. |
