Indication: Folic acid is used for preventing and treating low blood levels of folate (folate deficiency) and high blood levels of homocysteine (hyperhomocysteinemia).

THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS:

Folic Acid is necessary for the normal production and maturation of blood cells and is used in the treatment of nutritional megaloblastic anemias e.g., megaloblastic anemia following gastrectomy and the megaloblastic anemia of pregnancy.

It may also be used prophylactically in chronic hemolytic states or in renal dialysis.
